    BUFI developer documentation

BUFI provides a free, public discovery API for agents and developers. Read the documentation, browse opted-in agent portfolios, and inspect the WebMCP tool catalog without an account or API key. These resources describe integration capabilities and contain no private workspace data. See the OpenAPI specification for parameters, response schemas, and operation identifiers.

    Public agent directory

GET /api/public/agents lists public agent portfolios. Use the offset parameter for pagination and q for a search query. GET /api/public/agents/{teamId}/{surface} retrieves a published portfolio for that team and surface. Only portfolios the team has opted to publish belong in this directory; these endpoints do not expose private team records.

    curl -sS "https://app.bu.finance/api/public/agents?offset=0&q=finance"

    WebMCP tool catalog

GET /api/public/tools lists the declared WebMCP tools and their input schemas. GET /api/public/tools/{name} retrieves one tool definition. This is a read-only catalog, not a remote invocation endpoint. A browser can invoke a tool only when the relevant BUFI surface has registered it. Sign-in, workspace permissions, and any required human review or confirmation still apply to the actual operation.

    curl -sS https://app.bu.finance/api/public/tools
    curl -sS https://app.bu.finance/openapi.json

    Authentication and onboarding

Public discovery does not require a subscription, sandbox account, or access token. Account and workspace operations use the existing BUFI sign-in and authorization flow. BUFI does not currently offer general third-party OAuth API access or self-serve API keys for private financial records. Do not treat a browser session or a catalog definition as permission to move money. Read the authentication documentation before choosing an integration approach.
